The winter prepares the earth for the spring, so do afflictions sanctified prepare the soul for glory. - Richard Sibbes
When I am in the cellar of affliction, I look for the Lord's choicest wines. - Samuel Rutherford
The Antichrist and the great red dragon will lop Christ's branches, and bring His vine to a low stump, under the feet of those who carry the mark of the beast; but the Plant of Renown, the Man whose name is the Branch, will bud forth again and blossom as the rose, and there shall be fair white flourishes again, with most pleasant fruits, upon the tree of life. - Samuel Rutherford
Voice of the Martyrs
There is only a few verses in Scripture that tell us to specifically pray for the lost. The bulk of prayer commands are for us to pray for our brothers and sisters (the Church) and to pray that the Gospel might be spread.
ReplyDeleteA Church body should never neglect praying for the saints who are under persecution.
Thanks for the reminder.
