Grace of God and Tombstones

"'There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford."  said John witnessing a fellow prisoner being lead to execution.  After his two year imprisionment he and John Leaf(Lease) were themselves taken to Newcastle Prison where they were chained to a stake in preperation for their own execution.  Turning to Leaf, Bradford said,

  1. Among the "Tombstone Territory" of Christians who suffered for Christ, some "stones" still cry out in praise to a merciful God! I have often wondered how I would glorify the Lord Jesus Christ if placed in a similar situation..it's frightening to think about. God would have to give me dying grace. Today's generation of believers are in danger of "forgetting" the past. So many pastors just want the "now" ministry of "relevancy".
